Institute for Scientific and Technical Information - France (INIST)

  • The name of the DRM format used by INIST is: SED (Secure Electronic Delivery)
  • The format name used in FIZ AutoDoc for ordering is: PDF / DRM FileOpen. This is due to the fact that the technology used is provided by FileOpen Systems and licensed by INIST.
  • After ordering a document, you will receive an e-mail message telling you that the article is available (e-mail address: sle-ack@inist.fr). The message will include your order number, your patron / reader reference, the document number, the journal title, the article title, the author(s) and the source. Click on the link to download the document. The electronic copy of the document will be available for 30 days.

Please Note:

  • For using the INIST Secure Electronic Delivery, Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher is required.
  • In addition, the INIST SED plug-in must be installed. It is available for download from FileOpen Systems
  • Use the INIST test document to verify that the SED plug-in is working and that you can open and process encrypted SED documents.
  • If you cannot open the test document: contact INIST's customer support: assistance-technique@inist.fr or contact the FIZ AutoDoc Help Desk.
