The Shareholders’ Board

The Shareholders’ Board consists of representatives of the German federal government, of the federal states and of various scientific institutions. They decide, among other things, on die operating policy, pass the year-end accounts, and appoint the Supervisory Board and the President.

The Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board decides on important financial and  information-policy relevant  matters and proposes the  President to the Shareholders’ Board. The funding partners, the Scientific Advisory Board, and FIZ Karlsruhe’s staff are represented in the Supervisory Board.

The Scientific Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board offers advice to the Supervisory Board and the Management in all matters regarding services and R&D. Special emphasis is on the long-term strategy and the work programs. Another activity is to promote the collaboration between FIZ Karlsruhe and partners from science and industry. The members of the Scientific Advisory Board are appointed by the Supervisory Board with the aim to have each of FIZ Karlsruhe’s business areas represented by an expert in this field.
