Export Data

Data sets can be exported in CIF (Crystallographic Information File), CSV (Comma Separated Values) or XLS (Excel table) format.

Select the data set(s) you wish to export from the result list: Use the checkboxes in front of the entries (Fig. 1, (1.)) or click on “Select All”/”Deselect All” to select/deselect all entries (Fig. 1, (2.)). The button “Export Selected Data” will be activated (Fig. 1, (3.)). Alternatively, it is possible to export an entry by clicking on the disk symbol (Fig. 1, (4.)).

Clicking on the button “Export Selected Data” will show a dialogue as shown in Fig. 2. Enter the base file name for the data sets to export (Fig. 2, (1.)). The other name fields will be updated accordingly.

Exporting as a single CIF (Fig. 2, (2.)) will lead to one file, in which the exported entries are sequentially listed. Multiple CIFs (Fig. 2, (3.)) will result in individual files for each entry; the “X” in the filename will be substituted by a number, running from 1 to the number of selected entries.
Selecting “CSV Table” (Fig. 2, (4.)) or "Excel Table" (Fig. 2, (5.)) leads to a listing of main entries from the selected data sets. There will be no crystal structure data included in a CSV or XLS file!

Clicking on the disk symbol will show a dialogue window as shown in Fig. 3. The predefined filename contains the ICSD Collection Code of the exported entry. It is possible to change the suggested filename, of course.

Note: In order to preserve bandwidth, all exports will be compressed as .zip files.
