Improved Order Details page with information about standard and additional usage rights
21. July 2010
- The Order Details page now includes information about standard rights and potential additional rights for documents delivered via FIZ AutoDoc. This enables you / your end users to check whether the rights available with the purchase of the document fit your / the requestor's needs.
- The “Default Rights” field is always set to “standard”. Clicking the corresponding i-Button calls up a help page which informs you about rights and use restrictions regulated in the FIZ AutoDoc Terms & Conditions. To have these Terms & Conditions always at your fingertips while ordering a document makes it easier for you to observe these rules.
- The “Additional Rights” field is set to “n/a” by default. The corresponding i-Button calls up a help page with further information which additional rights / permissions from a copyright holder (e.g. publisher licence, CCC licence, CCC Rightsphere licence, CLA licence) may be incorporated into your FIZ AutoDoc customer account settings. As soon as we have incorporated your information about one or more additional rights from a copyright holder, these rights will be displayed on the Order Details page. If you would like to include the information about a specific right into FIZ AutoDoc, please contact us at products(at)fiz-karlsruhe(dot)de.
- In addition to solely displaying information about a specific right / licence you have obtained, we will later be able to embed these rights into the FIZ AutoDoc delivery functionality, thus improving our services and delivery process. We intend to add the following special features as value added services for holders of these licenses into FIZ AutoDoc:
License / Right | Supported by… | Planned added value |
Science Direct-License, (ELSEVIER, NL) | Reprints Desk | “PLAIN” PDF delivery |
Rightsphere-License, CCC´s rights advisory and management tool (Copyright Clearance Center, USA) | Reprints Desk | Delivery email includes link to Rightsphere to check the usage rights |
CLA-License (Copyright Licensing Agency, UK) | BLDSC | “PLAIN” PDF delivery instead of PDF with DRM / FileOpen encryption
|
etc. |
|
|
- In order to add value to FIZ AutoDoc by embedding a specific right / license, it is essential that these rights / licenses be supported by at least one of our partnering suppliers. Up to now, Reprints Desk, USA and BLSDC, UK offer options, which can be used.
