FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure

Welcome to FIZ Karlsruhe

We are a leading international provider of scientific information and services. Our mission is to supply scientists and companies with professional research and patent information as well as to develop innovative information services. As a key player in the information infrastructure we pursue our own research program and also cooperate with leading universities and research associations.

We collect tremendous quantities of information from a wide range of sources, and we assure that this information can be accurately and reliably searched and analyzed at all times. We provide databases that contain around 1.5 billion documents. Our clients include international market leaders from the pharmaceutical and chemical industries as well as large patent offices and research institutes. In addition, we are engaged in the development of innovative e-science solutions and services, including systems for the confidential management of research data.

We are a non-profit corporation and the largest non-university institution for information infrastructure in Germany.

FIZ Karlsruhe is a member of the Leibniz Association, which comprises almost 90 institutions involved in research activities and/or the development of scientific infrastructure.
