FIZ Karlsruhe is an official partner of the Research2Market (R2M) consortium. R2M consists of partners from German research institutions and organizations and pools their expertise and skills in the transfer of technology and knowledge.

R2M offers customized services with the aim to transform new technologies and knowledge-based services from research institutions and universities into marketable business models. The partners’ expertise covers the entire value generation chain of technology transfer – from the first idea to the market launch: initiating and accompanying projects of the consortium, acquiring research projects, developing business plans, etc.

FIZ Karlsruhe contributes its long-standing know-how in searching and analyzing patents to the partnership and offers the following services to the customers of the consortium:

• Search service for monitoring technological developments, determining the patentability of an idea, and for gathering information on competitors in an international market environment. Patent searches in different disciplines, patent family searches, legal status searches, patent citation searches, patent statistics, assistance in analyzing and evaluating the search results.
• Consulting, training, and search support for STN customers.

Research2Market is coordinated by neoplas GmbH/Greifswald (Germany), a spin-off of the Leibniz-Institut für Plasmaforschung und Technologie.  R2M pools the knowledge of more than 200 employees and more than 1,000 experts from the outside. Thus, we can provide you with the answers to your questions and with practical assistance for all your needs related to the transfer of technology.

The partners are:  the two Leibniz institutes FIZ Karlsruhe and FIZ Chemie, neoplas GmbH (also related to the Leibniz Association), Florenus AG/Berlin, GWT-TUD GmbH/Dresden, ttz/Bremerhaven and WACKSTUM GmbH/Munich.

R2M was founded in addition to a funding program of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) that examines existing structures for the exploitation of research results in Leibniz institutions and offers suggestions for improvement.
