STN Express™ with Discover! is a fully integrated software package designed to easily and efficiently search scientific and technical databases online through STN® as well as other online hosts. It supports all steps of your information research: search preparation (text, chem. structure, biosequences), online search and analysis, and postprocessing of results. Additionally, it offers seamless access to electronic and print full-text resources.

The new MSI installer should only be used for new installs or people upgrading from Version 8.3. Those upgrading from Versions 8.2 and earlier should only use the .exe (scripted) installer.

Please note that the MSI and the scripted installers have different behaviors when encountering STN Express 8.2 or prior versions. Both will move prior version user files into the user file locations in STN Express 8.4.

The MSI installer will not uninstall the prior version. The STN Express
uninstall shortcut may be used to remove prior versions, after STN Express 8.4 has been installed and after you have launched STN Express 8.4 once to create your user files.
The scripted installer will uninstall the program files of STN Express 8.2 or
earlier and remove STN Express related *.ini files from C:\Windows.
