FRANCEPAT - new on STN

FRANCEPAT (French Patents Database) has been released on STN on February 29, 2004
FRANCEPAT, produced by Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI), Paris, France covers all French patent applications and granted French patents published by the Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI). All patents published in France since 1966 as well as special pharmaceutical patents (Brevets Speciaux Medicaments) published between 1961 and 1978 are included as well as Complementary Protection Certificates from 1969 onwards.
Records include bibliographic, administrative and legal status data for each patent. Abstracts and descriptors are also available since 1978. All records are in French, but English descriptors are available from 1987 onwards.
Images of patent drawings are included in records published from 1978 onwards. Simultaneous left and right truncation is available in the basic index (/BI) and abstract (/AB) fields.
The file presently contains more than 1.03 million records with more than 403,000 images. It will be updated weekly, automatic current awareness-searches (SDIs) will be run weekly or monthly. (Weekly is the default).
The summary sheet is available online in STNGuide (=> S FRANCEPAT/DBN) and on the WEB on our Database List.
It will also be mailed to all loginid holders.
