Improved searching of U.S. Patent Classifications for U.S. patent records in CA/CAplus
Searching of U.S. patent classifications in CA/CAplus has been improved and is now consistent with USPATFULL/USPAT2. The changes include the following:
- The National Patent Classification (NCL) field now contains current U.S. Patent Classifications and the thesaurus for all records for U.S. patents (basic and family) from 1907 to the present. The National Patent Classification data are updated and reloaded for all records, as needed, every two months.
- The Issued National Patent Classification (INCL) field now contains the National Patent Classification that was in effect at the time the patent was originally published. This field is present for basic patents only.
- The table in the Classifications (CLASS) display field includes NCL codes for U.S. family members. Note: U.S. family members since 1993 may already have European Classification (ECLA) codes.
