An STN login ID or an STN Login ID for Shared Projects is required to use STN Viewer:

• To request a full-access STN login ID, complete and return the STN Agreement and Order Form (German/English).
• To request STN Login IDs for Shared Projects, current STN login ID holders must complete and return the STN Login IDs for Shared Projects Request Form.

To use STN Viewer, a patent search must first be performed in STN Express, Version 8.3 or higher.  All standard STN and STN Express pricing applies to the patent search.  There is no charge to import STN Express answer sets into STN Viewer.

Displaying patent documents 

Fees to display a full-text patent document in STN Viewer are: 

1) VAT will be added according to the VAT rate valid in the customer’s country of domicile.

Patent documents displayed within a project can be re-displayed within the same project at no additional cost.  These fees also apply when saving a document that has not been displayed.   

Displaying patent family information

Fees to display patent family information per patent document in STN Viewer are:

1) VAT will be added according to the VAT rate valid in the customer’s country of domicile.

Designated states, legal status information (INPADOCDB only), and extended patent family information (CAplus only) is included at no additional cost.  Patent family information may be re-displayed within a project at no additional cost.

Patent equivalents indicated in the patent family information display may be added to a patent project or the patent queue at no additional cost.  Display fees apply if the patent equivalent documents are displayed. 

Long-term storage of patent projects

The monthly fee for storage of saved projects is EURO 1.62 per project.

Shared projects and associated fees

When a project is shared, display fees are charged to the originator for any patent documents not previously displayed. There is no additional fee to share a project. For holders of STN Login IDs for Shared Projects, all fee-generating activities are charged to the requestor of the STN Login IDs for Shared Projects.

Recipients of shared projects, including those with an STN Login ID for Shared Projects, may:

• Display all patent documents in the project, including any purchased patent family information, at no additional cost
• Purchase patent family information not previously purchased by the originator
• Add patent equivalents to a patent project or the patent queue at no additional cost (display fees apply if the patent equivalent documents are displayed)

All STN Viewer fees are covered under the STN Fixed Fee Plan.  In addition, discounts available to customers in the STN Volume Discount Plan apply to all STN Viewer fees.
