Highlights of recent system and file enhancements in CAPLUS, DWPI, Inpadoc, Full-text and sequence files.

Numeric property search on STN
In 2011 FIZ Karlsruhe revolutionized patent searching by extracting numeric properties from text fields to provide over 55 separately FIELDed, range-searchable numeric properties, which can also be searched in context with text using proximity operators. An enhanced version is now available for DWPI and will be presented in this session.

Biomedical files on STN
Our Biofile presentation will look at how a user can utilize the unique features of the biomedical files to find references relating to both pharmaceuticals and traditional medicines. It will also look at how to look for clinical trial information and also for biosimilars.
Many of the techniques shown will be relevant for many types of searches including those needed for pharmacovigilance purposes.

CAS polymer searching
This session will look at the polymer content and coverage in CAS REGISTRY and CAplus and will feature a number of ways of searching for polymer information. It will highlight how polymers are indexed in the REGISTRY file and will also show how to search for this information based on CAS Registry Numbers, molecular formula, structure and a number of text options available in REGISTRY or CAplus.

Citation searching on STN
A refresher on how you can add value to your search by using patent and non-patent citations
