PatMon – the patent monitoring service
Would you like to monitor your patent portfolio, or those of your competitors but fear the time consuming effort of manual checks? PatMon is the right tool for you to stay informed about new family members and changes to the legal status of patent applications while requiring minimal effort to set up the monitoring.
Based on established, up-to-date INPADOC datasets upgraded with additions and standardizations from FIZ Karlsruhe, PatMon offers reliable worldwide surveillance of patent rights.
With PatMon’s intuitive, graphical user interface setting up of customized, automatic alerts is easy and requires no specific search know-how. The appropriate monitoring strategy is defined via easy to handle selection menus. Thus publications and legal events for domestic or international patent families can be monitored selectively.
To initiate a monitoring case, all you need to enter is a patent number. Multiple cases can be efficiently initiated with a bulk upload function. PatMon allows for very broad monitoring requirements, but also for very specific ones. Events that are of no interest can even be excluded thus avoiding information overload. To share a monitoring case with colleagues, simply add them as “watchers”.
Clearly arranged, detailed and recent information is accessible for a monitored patent family with the most recent relevant events highlighted. The international INPADOC family shows all family members in an overview with the legal events. Alternatively, the national families can be displayed with respective legal status information only.
Use PatMon e.g. to
- be alerted for any patent of interest about opposition, licensing, ownership changes, withdrawal or grant
- watch your competitors´ patents for applications in additional countries
- monitor changes to validity of your competitors´ patents
- to follow own patent applications through the grant procedure
