FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure is one of the leading provider of scientific information and services and a member of the Leibniz Association. At our Berlin location, we are recruiting for the position of a Data Architect (f/m/x) in part-time with 50% at the next possible date.
This position is part of the MaRDI project on research data infrastructures for mathematics. MaRDI is part of the German Research Data Infrastructure initiative (NFDI programme). The main focus is on standardization of mathematical research data and software. This includes:
Representation of MaRDI in international standardization bodies
Development and implementation of standards for mathematical data
Collection of requirements from cooperation partners
Alignment of mathematical standards with standards from other disciplines
Qualifications and Skills:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields
Experience in managing data sets and designing knowledge bases
Experience in project management
Experience in professional software development required
Contributions to Open Source Software desirable
Experience with MediaWiki framework desirable
Experience with data standardization bodies
Proven record in working with relational and semi-structured data, i.e., XML, JSON in large-scale applications
Experience with Linked open data, i.e., SPARQL, graph databases (optional)
Awareness of code quality, good knowledge of coding best practices
Very good ability to work in a team

Remuneration is based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector (TVöD). The employment contract is initially limited to two years, but our aim is a long-term cooperation.
