FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure is one of the leading provider of scientific information and services and a member of the Leibniz Association. Our core task is the professional support of science and industry with research and patent information as well as the development of innovative information infrastructures, e.g. with a focus on research data management, knowledge graphs and digital platforms. For this purpose, we conduct in-house research, cooperate with renowned universities and research associations and maintain an international network. At our Berlin location, we are recruiting for the position of a Scientist (f/m/x) the next possible date.

Job Description:
Collaboration in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) project "faircore4eosc" according to the project plan in the following work packages:

• API and Connectors between Aggregators and swMATH
  Develop API and connectors between swMATH and Software Heritage to support archival, reference, description and citation as follows: extract references to software from research articles and trigger archival of source code known to aggregators and missing in Software Heritage, expose the corresponding SWHID in the software artifact record maintained by the aggregator, deposit and retrieve metadata for the software artifacts in Software Heritage, deposit and/or retrieve preferred citation information for the software artifacts in Software Heritage; export citation Information in one or more of the common open citation formats (BibLaTeX, CSL, codemeta.json)
  Integrate and showcase the above into swMATH
• Showcase the added value of the developed core components for the mathematics community

Qualifications and Skills:

• Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics or similar areas
• Business fluent in English
• Experience in the implementation of externally funded projects
• Very good programming skills
• Awareness of software code quality and secure knowledge of the state of the art in software development research and technology
• Very good ability to work in a team
• Professional development experience desirable

Remuneration is based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector (TVöD/VKA) with the company pension scheme with VBL. The weekly working time is 39 hours.
