Trust office for mobility data (TreuMoDa)

TreuMoDa deals with the research and development of a trust office for mobility data in the application field of automated driving using the Test Area for Autonomous Driving (TAF). Advances in digitalization are making mobility more efficient, safer, more resilient, more flexible, more individual and more resource-efficient. Mobility data from speed and acceleration sensors in vehicles and data from the traffic infrastructure make it possible to record and interpret complex traffic scenarios in detail and derive actions from them. This data is valuable for science in order to better understand the behavior of road users and technical systems. For the public sector, data analysis can lead to more precise planning of transport projects, while the business sector benefits from the possibility of agile development and validation of attractive products in the mobility sector.

However, due to the frequent reference to individuals, the use and transfer of data can be critical for data protection reasons, depending on the type of data, the data recipient and the planned use. A neutral, non-profit trust agency for mobility data (TMD) is to counteract uncertainties and gray areas and promote the active use of mobility data by providing legal and technical advice, data preparation and transfer as well as a legally compliant range of anonymized data sets. As part of the project, the concept of a TMD is to be developed ready for use in close cooperation with stakeholders and validated using data from the Baden-Württemberg test field for autonomous driving as an example.
