Opportunities of good scientific practice for legal standards in research data management

Karlsruhe, 12. June 2025 — At the annual meeting on good scientific practice in the Leibniz Association, Thomas Hartmann from the Intellectual Property Rights unit (IGR) presented the results of his current research. One focus of the discussion was on the increasing importance of good scientific practice for research data management and the resulting opportunities for science-related legal standards for digital research data. The event took place at the end of  May 2025 at the Senckenberg Research Institute in Frankfurt am Main. One of the opening speeches was held by Sabine Brünger-Weilandt (former President & CEO of FIZ Karlsruhe), who is among the four key ombudspersons of the Leibniz Association.
