Successfully completed doctorate: Sasha Bruns defends dissertation with Honors

Karlsruhe, October 07, 2026 — We congratulate our colleague Sasha Bruns from the Information Service Engineering (ISE) research unit on successfully completing her doctoral degree! At the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), she defended her dissertation, titled “Choosing the Right Time: Guidelines for Temporal Modeling in Knowledge Graphs,” with honors.

In her research, Sasha Bruns addresses the question of how temporal information can be meaningfully modeled in knowledge graphs. Her research thus provides an important foundation for better representing and utilizing complex temporal relationships in linked data.

We are delighted with this scientific achievement and extend our warmest congratulations to Sasha! We would also like to thank her for her research work at FIZ Karlsruhe to date and look forward to continuing our collaboration.
