Establishment of the NFDI Directorate

FIZ Karlsruhe and KIT jointly initiated the establishment of the NFDI Directorate in Karlsruhe. 
FIZ Karlsruhe was responsible for the administrative project management, including the associated personnel, financial and legal aspects, while KIT was responsible for the material and technical equipment. Our man tasks were to settle formal and legal issues when the NFDI association was founded and to draft the final statutes, to examine them, to subsequently have the non-profit status confirmed by the Karlsruhe tax office and to support the office (as the precursor institution of the directorate) from the procurement of work equipment and office equipment to obtaining trademark and logo rights. The NFDI Association gained independence with its entry in the register of associations on November 19, 2020. The transfer of all personnel and material assets from FIZ Karlsruhe to the NFDI Association followed in the subsequent months.
