Manifold contributions from FIZ Karlsruhe in the proceedings of the E-Science Days 2025

Karlsruhe, 06 November 2025 – From March 12 to 14, 2025, the research data management community gathered at the E-Science Days in Heidelberg and online. Under the motto “Research Data Management: Challenges in a Changing World,” the three-day event focused on current developments, challenges, and future prospects in digital science.

Research in the digital transformation requires strong structures and effective collaboration—this was also the tenor of many contributions. Topics such as data quality, publication strategies, the influence of AI on research data management, and dealing with geopolitical changes were discussed. The aim was to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and jointly find ways to make research data sustainable and openly accessible.

FIZ Karlsruhe was not only represented by several participants from the fields of intellectual property rights and e-research – research data management, but also significantly contributed to the conference proceedings that have now been published. Numerous contributions were made by FIZ employees, who brought their expertise and perspectives to the discussion. FIZ Karlsruhe is thus making an important contribution to the scientific discourse on data management and digital infrastructures.

The conference proceedings for E-Science Days 2025 are now available online free of charge. They are well worth a look for anyone interested in the opportunities and challenges of research data management in a constantly changing world.
